It has been a good year, perhaps the best in the past decade since our children have left home. This 2014 has certainly been a prolific year in terms of writing.
More important than writing is the gift of family throughout the year. We have managed to make the twelve hour drives to visit two of our three children in order to spend time with them and their families. Our third child lives just over an hour away which allows more frequent visits, especially for golfing and watching hockey games. The gift of time spent with my six grandsons has been precious.
So. it is with anticipation that I look forward to today and tomorrow spent in my home with most of the family. Included in our time together will be a street hockey game or three in front of our house, something that has become a tradition since we moved here thirteen years ago.
Merry Christmas – and that is said whether you are Christian, atheist, agnostic, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, [fill in the blank] or like me, simply a spiritual being.
